MMA Weekly Roundup · Monday, September 7, 2026
A quiet week on paper turned into one of the loudest debuts of the year. Paris got a new star, the women's flyweight division got a new title fight, and one of Europe's most feared knockout artists finally landed in the UFC. Here is the week that was.
UFC Paris: Salahdine Parnasse Ends Dan Hooker in Round One
Saturday's card at the Accor Arena belonged to one man. Salahdine Parnasse, making his promotional debut in front of a French crowd, stopped Dan Hooker at 2:35 of the first round to move to 24-2. Hooker, one of the toughest outs at 155 pounds for the better part of a decade, falls to 24-15. It is hard to script a better arrival — a ranked veteran, a home crowd, and a first-round finish. Full results are up at UFC.com.
The event drew an announced 15,687 fans and a $4,365,335 live gate, and the room stayed hot all night. MMA Mania and Yahoo Sports both framed it the same way: a new star showed up.
The Rest of the Paris Card
In the co-main event, Axel Sola dropped Fares Ziam with a left hook in the opening frame for another first-round finish. Kurtis Campbell became the first fighter to finish Trevor Peek and picked up his first UFC win in the process. Mario Pinto ground out a systematic beating before earning a TKO early in the second round, and Donchenko swept the scorecards to run his overall streak to eight and his UFC streak to three. On the prelims, Felipe Lima took a unanimous decision from Morgan Charriere to move to 3-0 in the Octagon at featherweight. Parnasse, Sola and Keita each collected $100,000 performance bonuses.
Title News: Vacant Flyweight Belt Headlines UFC 332
The biggest announcement of the week came during the Paris broadcast. Natalia Silva will meet Wang Cong for the vacant UFC women's flyweight championship in the main event of UFC 332 on October 3 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The belt came open after Valentina Shevchenko informed the promotion she would be sidelined for roughly a year with an injury; she is expected to get a shot at the winner once she is cleared. Silva walks in 8-0 in the UFC and chasing her first world title. The card is also notable as the first numbered UFC main card to air on CBS.
Elsewhere on that card, Payton Talbott is booked against former two-division titleholder Deiveson Figueiredo at bantamweight, and Johnny Walker makes his heavyweight debut opposite Mick Parkin.
Signings and Bookings
Roberto Soldic is a UFC fighter. The former KSW welterweight and middleweight double champion — 19 of his 21 career wins by finish, 18 by knockout — signed with the promotion this week after a run through ONE Championship. He is a middleweight, he is 31, and he has already split a two-fight series with Dricus du Plessis. That is a meaningful addition to a division that always needs finishers.
Outside the Octagon
ONE Championship ran ONE Fight Night 47 from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok on Saturday, where Stamp Fairtex edged Selina Flores by split decision in a three-round Muay Thai main event to put herself on a two-fight winning streak. ONE has the full card.
Looking Ahead: Noche UFC in Glendale
The UFC heads to Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona on Saturday, September 12 for Noche UFC: Silva vs. Delgado. Jean Silva and Jose Delgado headline at featherweight, with a stacked supporting cast: Brandon Moreno vs. Joseph Morales and Manon Fiorot vs. Alexa Grasso at flyweight, Curtis Blaydes vs. Waldo Cortes-Acosta at heavyweight, and Dan Ige vs. David Martinez at bantamweight. Prelims start at 2 p.m. ET with the main card at 5 p.m. ET on Paramount+.
