The biggest gi tournament of the year crowned its champions at the Walter Pyramid in Long Beach. Here are the headline results from the 2026 IBJJF Worlds.

Pessanha becomes the most decorated woman ever

Gabi Pessanha took double gold in super-heavyweight and the absolute, giving her a record 12 world titles and cementing her as the most successful female competitor in the sport's history.

Munis wins another absolute; Pato bows out on top

Erich Munis claimed his seventh world title in the men's absolute. And in a storybook finish, Diego "Pato" Oliveira won a record fifth light-featherweight world title and announced his retirement as a reigning champion. Other black-belt gold went to Tainan Dalpra, Jansen Gomes, Cole Abate, and Mayssa Bastos, among others.
