Gabi Pessanha reclaimed bragging rights, winning both super-heavyweight and the open class and turning the tables on Sarah Galvao in the absolute final, just weeks after Galvao had beaten her at Pans. Galvao still shone, taking gold in the lightweight division.

Men's open class: Ribeiro on top

On the men's side, Gabriel Ribeiro of Soldiers Jiu-Jitsu captured the open-class crown, adding a Brasileiro absolute title to a big year.
